Walker County Parole or Probation

Walker County DCS Field Office

The DCS LaFayette field office serves Walker County and the Lookout Mountain Circuit, as well as Catoosa, Chattooga, and Dade counties. It is the concrete local contact for many adult felony probation and parole matters. The office page names Coordinating Chief John "Brent" Martin. Walker Supervision Violations and Warrants

Conditions may require reporting, residence approval, program participation, payment obligations, or compliance with court and Board instructions. The exact terms belong to the supervision order. A missed appointment is not proof of an absconder warrant, and an allegation of a violation is not the same as a final revocation decision.

Walker Release Programs and Reentry

Walker State Prison is a Faith & Character Based facility with programs that may shape release planning. GDC lists RSAT, counseling, education, vocational and on-the-job training, mentoring, veterans services, family services, fatherhood services, and work details. Northwest RSAT is housed within the prison. Program participation can be relevant to a case plan, but it does not guarantee parole, earned credit, or a set release day.

Confirm any effect through GDC and the Parole Board. After a state-prison release, DCS is the local field source when supervision applies. A Northwest RSAT program exit may return someone to supervision rather than mark the end of a sentence.

Walker Release Property Deadlines

Supervision questions sometimes begin with property left at the jail. Walker Sheriff's Office states that a newly booked person has 72 hours to release property and that family or friends may not bring property into the facility. Remaining property requires a signed release form and must be picked up within 30 days or it may be destroyed.

Those rules concern belongings, not parole or probation status. Use the sheriff's property-release instructions for the pickup process, and use DCS, the court, or the Parole Board for supervision.
