Northwest RSAT Exit Paths

Northwest RSAT is a residential substance abuse treatment unit within Walker State Prison. GDC says the prison can house up to 200 male probation RSAT detainees in the center. That description matters. A person can leave the program without receiving the kind of county-jail release recorded by the Walker County Sheriff. The exit may return the participant to probation or another form of community supervision, move the participant to another state-controlled placement, follow a court decision, or mark another GDC status change.

The word completion should not be treated as proof that all court duties ended. Program status, custody status, sentence status, and supervision status are distinct. GDC is the starting point for the state placement. DCS is the source for active field supervision. The sentencing court explains the order that placed the person in RSAT and any later modification, revocation, or completion outcome.

Confirm a Northwest RSAT Exit

Begin with the Georgia offender search because Northwest RSAT is part of the GDC facility structure. Match the person using all available identifiers and read the current status, location, offense, sentence, and date fields. GDC warns that the online record is for convenience and may not be complete, so use written Inmate Records correspondence when the exact exit date or destination must be confirmed.

1. Search GDC for the participant and confirm identity.
2. Check whether Northwest RSAT, Walker State Prison, another placement, or a release status appears.
3. Review the sentencing court docket for the controlling order and later changes.
4. Contact DCS to verify whether the person returned to active community supervision.
5. Request written GDC or court records if an online status does not explain the exit.

Northwest RSAT Contact Route

The reviewed GDC material routes Northwest RSAT through Walker State Prison rather than publishing a separate county jail-style address, phone, or roster. Facility questions therefore use the prison contact. A records question about state placement or discharge should go to GDC Inmate Records, while a question about supervision belongs with DCS.

Northwest RSAT Court Records

RSAT participation may arise from a probation or sentencing outcome, so the court record can outlast the physical stay. A docket or order may show the original placement, conditions, a revocation, a modification, credit, or the action that followed completion. The record needed depends on the court that entered the controlling order, not merely the program's Walker County location.

Ask the clerk for the disposition, sentencing order, probation revocation order, modification, or later order tied to the placement. Include the case number if known, full name, approximate filing date, and charge. Northwest RSAT Supervision Check

The Georgia Department of Community Supervision handles field supervision for parolees and felony probationers. A person who completes Northwest RSAT may return to DCS reporting instead of leaving all state control. Contact the assigned office to verify reporting location and current supervision status. DCS, not the county jail, is the local source for that field-supervision question.

The LaFayette DCS office serves Walker, Catoosa, Chattooga, and Dade counties and the Lookout Mountain Circuit. Its Walker location does not mean it supervises every Northwest RSAT participant after exit. The participant may return to a different county or circuit. Confirm the assigned office rather than assuming LaFayette based on the program location.

Probation

Court-ordered supervision in the community, sometimes after a residential program.

Revocation

A court action that changes probation because of an alleged or proven violation.

Placement

A state-controlled facility or program assignment.

Completion

Northwest RSAT Within Walker Prison

The center shares Walker State Prison's Rock Spring location. GDC lists the larger institution as medium security, opened in 1972, renovated in 2000, and able to house 444 people. It has a Faith & Character Based mission and provides several treatment, counseling, education, mentoring, vocational, and work programs. Northwest RSAT Record Meanings

A GDC search result may show current facility, custody status, offense and sentence information, and release-related fields. Those fields describe the state offender record, not the full program case. A court order may give the legal basis for placement. DCS can confirm post-program supervision. No one source necessarily displays all three layers.

Maximum Release Date is the full-term prison computation used for a state inmate if parole does not intervene. Tentative Parole Month concerns possible parole action. Neither label should be imposed on an RSAT participant unless it appears in that person's actual record and applies to the sentence. A probation-program completion may follow a different court and supervision path.

When records conflict, identify the precise event and agency. Ask GDC when the person left the program or placement. Ask the clerk what order followed. Ask DCS whether and where active supervision resumed. Keep each reply and note the date it was checked. This three-source check is more reliable than interpreting absence from a roster as release to the community.
